SAL: Nine days to Halloween to go and I can scarcely contain myself! OK, I exaggerate. As I've mentioned before, this isn't my favorite holiday - way too many spiders for my liking! However, for those of you wanting to indulge and add a little Halloween Goth to your home decor scene here are a few gems that caught my eye. A good place to start is Etsy's Halloween showcase, I especially liked the Little Witch print (above) from Bad Bird who has a definitively dark point of view. On Design Public I found these elegant new cushions from Dwell, that have a certain Gothic quality and Coe & Waito have these lovely porcelain vases that are very dramatic - available online at Peek Keep. For outdoors you can try something a little different from your regular Jack-O-Lantern, with a Pumpkin Topiary from Smith & Hawken. And when you're out trick or treating - go a little crazy with these sexy costumes from Baby Girl boutique - well, we can but dream!

SAL: Ah, the holiday season approaches and with it all the tacky gaudy decorations that can so overwhelm even the strictest aesthete. Halloween is no exception to this - infact I'd say it's the biggest offender with all the orange and faux cobwebs that can turn your home into a nightmare - no pun intended. So my recommendation? Keep it simple, some lights, a pumpkin and leave it at that. For that reason, I love these ghost string lights from Wrapables, found via HGTV. Fun and simple. Let me know any cool Halloween ideas you have!
