INSIDE: colour me up
Posted by cerentha on 3/11/2009

Is there anything happier than yellow? I am loving yellow at the moment. This is a new rug I came across at Anthropologie. I have absolutely no yellow in my house…I need to figure out how to include it in a way that I wont be sick of it in a week. It seems such a big commitment. This is coming from someone who leans towards black and white with hints of brown here and there!

INSIDE: rugged up

Well I am in Maine right now so you’ll have to forgive the weather metaphors. With all this snow and cold weather and such, my mind is drawn to the cosy and the warm, the inviting and the comforting. Which is why this lovely rug from Domestic Modern caught my attention. I keep racking my brains to think if I can make this work in my new place, jury’s out, but I still had to share. :)

HARRY: I’m thinking about rugs for the new living room - it’s 12 months off but a rug seems more do-able than thinking about the millions of other details involved in a renovation. The back of the house will have a concrete floor so it will need to be softened…with something. My obsession with Missoni continues (see the cotton/wool rugs above…I need to find somewhere closer than Chicago for these guys!). But then I also like the idea of a lovely old ruby red Persian. (We’ve been looking for this for months. They are just so very expensive). Or one of Akira Isogawa’s rugs for Designer Rugs. His kimono-inspired designs are amazing (see below). He’s just done a new range for 2008. OR anything from Tibet Gallery. Hmmmmm.
