INSIDE: rugged up
Posted by Sal Taylor Kydd on 12/07/2008

Well I am in Maine right now so you’ll have to forgive the weather metaphors. With all this snow and cold weather and such, my mind is drawn to the cosy and the warm, the inviting and the comforting. Which is why this lovely rug from Domestic Modern caught my attention. I keep racking my brains to think if I can make this work in my new place, jury’s out, but I still had to share. :)

WEAR: get political
Posted by Sal Taylor Kydd on 10/28/2008

Tis the season for political action, so I thought I’d share with you these very funky tees from the folks over at There are a bunch of different styles to suit every activist’s taste, with titles varying from “Petrolcide” to “This Machine Kills Fascists” - depicting a picture of a guitar. Nice one. I chose the more innocuous Treehugger pictured above.

We’re Back!
Posted by Sal Taylor Kydd on 10/28/2008

Hello faithful readers!

I have a big apology. A string of technical glitches and challenges from our dear old friends at Blogger forced Harry and Sal to go on hiatus over the summer. I couldn’t post, I couldn’t do anything until I moved the entire thing over to Wordpress. Whilst we were at it I figured a redesign was way overdue so I hope you enjoy our new look.

So stay tuned for more Harry and Sal discoveries coming your way - only this time - what with the economy and all - we’ll try and limit ourselves to the more affordable end of the market and see how crafty we can get on the home front too. Although I cannot promise that my lust for all things divine will not stray into avaricious territory every so often. We aren’t all perfect!

cheers! Sal

INSIDE: come sail away
Posted by Meredith Alexander on 4/05/2008

MEREDITH: I find that everything I think is blog-worthy seems to be for the nursery and not the living room. I’m cyber-stuck at the kid’s table. This one might be able to go either way. I love this Viking Mobile which can be ordered with 3 or 5 ships. It seems like the most beautiful way to set sail a child’s imagination. The boats are made of teak and they look as though they would fit most any room decor. I know boys love pirate toys, costumes, decor, parties, treasure and well, everything buccaneer-ish, but this is pretty enough even for a swashbuckling wee lass.

INSIDE: the uk is aok
Posted by Meredith Alexander on 2/20/2008

MEREDITH: Hello out there in Harry and Sal land. My name is Meredith and I have a little site called The Acme Sharing Company which is a place to find family activities that teach kids about giving back. SO, needless to say, I don’t get to blog about my favorite yummies; toys, books, gifts, furniture, etc. Now, here is my chance, thank you Sal!

In honor of Sal’s heritage, I wanted to share with you the most fabulous Lizzie Allen wallpaper. I think these palace guards would work in both a traditional playroom or a super funky modern nursery. Being an anglophile and all around wannabe Brit, I am thinking that, for me, this might just be overkill since I have already hung Union Jack flags in my son’s room in lieu of curtains. God Save the Queen!
