INSIDE: time for a project

Although it’s often easier to just buy new, there’s a lot to be said for finding that old vintage gem and redoing it. You just have to be careful as there are some folks charging a fortune for reupholstering old pieces - always do your homework and get a couple of quotes. The fabulous Laura Baker found this wonderful chair we’re just about to refinish. I love the shape but was initially a bit put off by the cost $350 - which once you add in reupholstering costs (which should never run over $300 - $400 for a piece this size) well it all starts to add up. However, there is a slight crack so we got it for $250. I don’t know why but that made all the psychological difference :). I’ll let you know once it’s redone!
